Khwaish Mathur
I am Khwaish Mathur, a Grade 12 student at Neerja Modi School, Jaipur. I see myself as someone who is naturally introverted but curious to learn and understand the world around me. I enjoy reading and writing, and I often reflect on things I observe and experience. I also value spending time with my close friends, where I feel comfortable being myself.
My interest in social work started after meeting with Dr. Pramila Sanjaya ma’am at SIDART NGO who continuously has been contributing in empowerment of the marginalized and poor especially children and women. Seeing her work in areas like women empowerment, child development, and digital literacy made me realize how regular efforts can bring real change at the grassroots level. I’m really thankful to Pramila ma’am for giving me such a great opportunity to understand social issues and experience real time things.
During my initial days at SIDART, I visited schools in slum areas and interacted with students to create awareness about digital literacy. What stood out to me was not just the lack of resources, but the gap in awareness—something as simple as understanding how to use digital tools could open new opportunities for them. Engaging with these students pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me understand the responsibility that comes with knowledge.
As someone who has been naturally introspective, stepping into such environments challenged me to communicate, connect, and take initiative. It made me more aware of the kind of leadership required—not just authority, but empathy, patience, and consistency.
These experiences have strengthened my interest in International Relations and policy-making, where I hope to contribute towards creating systems that address social inequalities at a larger scale.
